Gone Fishing by *lpeters Suggestions by ~QuietCity, this gorgeously-hued, past 2010 Contest Entry for "James and the Giant Peach", has a surreal visual with the many goldfish coming into the picture from a whirlpool-like swirl and blasting to the forefront in multi-layers. The golden-orange reflects on the fisherboy and his faithful Saint Bernard. The grass flows upward as if a wind whoosh is created by the airborne school of fish. Beautifully done!

“Gone Fishing” was a piece I created for the Disney’s James and the Giant Peach Daydream Contest. The goal was to portray an imaginative daydream landscape where you go to escape reality.
It’s a bit different than my usual genre and style but I wanted something bright, kid-friendly and fun. The concept itself was inspired by my 7 year old son who has a vivid imagination and loves adventure.
If I had the opportunity to escape the real world, I’d be his age again, carefree and young. How great would it be to take off on your dog’s back and go fishing – for giant-sized goldfish swimming through the sky.
