Description
This is my personal interpretation of the story of the birth of the Goddess Venus. Supposedly said to have emerged from the sea as a full-grown woman. I wanted to portray her innocence before she woke up for the first time on earth, before she realized her identity as the Goddess of beauty and desire.

I updated this painting because it still wasn't sitting well with me, especially the water. Much happier with this final version.

Overall Vision Originality
Technique ImpactFirst of all, this is a work that just captured my attention from the first time I saw it. It's just wonderful!
Her innocence is beautifully captured in this drawing. The technique is certainly of a higher level, though I would have liked the water to be a bit more detailed.
I recognized her immediately as Venus, which makes the work even better and I especially like the originality of it. I've never seen an interpretation as this one before. I also think nobody has seen her like this ever before.
In conclusion, it certainly is an overwhelming masterpiece and I believe it deserves more appreciation.
